Using Whitespace & Duplicate Remover

Tidy a list copied from a spreadsheet, email or PDF: strip stray spaces, drop blank lines and remove repeated entries before you paste it somewhere else.

How to use it

1. Paste the messy list into the input box, one item per line.
2. Tick the operations you want: Trim Line Whitespace, Remove Empty Lines, Remove Duplicate Lines and Collapse Extra Spaces can be combined.
3. Click Clean Text Now and compare the line count before and after.
4. Click Copy Result once the output looks right.

Limits and common mistakes

• Duplicates must match exactly after cleaning, so "Bangkok" and "bangkok" both stay; fix capitalization first if they should merge.
• The first occurrence of each duplicate is kept and later ones removed, which preserves your original order.
• Collapsing spaces will damage text where spacing matters, such as Python code, aligned tables or poetry.
• Collapse Extra Spaces also turns tabs into single spaces, so leave it off for tab-separated columns.
