Using URL Slug Generator
Turn an article or product title into a short, lowercase URL path that works in any CMS, file system or routing table.
How to use it
- Type or paste the title into Input Title / Sentence; the slug updates as you type.
- Choose Hyphen (-), Underscore (_) or Dot (.) as the separator. Hyphens are the usual choice for web addresses.
- Read the generated slug and shorten it by hand if it runs past five or six words.
- Click Copy Slug and check your site does not already use the same path.

Limits and common mistakes
- Accented Latin letters are simplified (é becomes e), but Thai, Chinese and other non-Latin characters are removed, so a title written only in those scripts produces an empty slug.
- Symbols such as & and ! are dropped rather than spelled out, which can change meaning ("R&D" becomes "rd").
- The tool cannot check whether the slug is already used on your site.
- Your title is not written into this page's address, so drafts do not leak through browser history.
